Common Ground

So Schumer, Lautenberg, Feinstein, et al, are up to their old tricks – slipping an anti-gun amendment into the Cyber-Security bill being considered by the Senate.

“Maybe we could come together on guns if each side gave some,” Schumer said.

And earlier this week, Obama stated that AK-47s (and implied all “assault weapons”) were only properly used by the military and all other uses were criminal.

So here’s my proposal to Obama and Schumer:

A complete ban on automatic and semi-automatic weapons with the appearance of military weapons, and all magazines that hold more than 10 rounds of ammunition by all federal, state, county and local law enforcement throughout the United States.  The President and Congress have direct authority to insure compliance by all federal employees (FBI, DHS, DEA, ATFE, DEA, USDA, EPA, etc…) and can use their funding requirements to bring states and local municipalities into line.

Any objection to such a law would constitute an admission of lying to the American people.  Law enforcement, not even the Secret Service, are military personnel.

After 10 years of enforcement, the results can be evaluated and if removing these weapons and magazines from law enforcement can be proven to reduce crime, then we can discuss implementing a similar law for the general public.

So that’s my proposal, Mr Schumer.  Give a little, like you proposed.

Or else Go Fuck Yourself and leave my rights alone.
