No Wonder He Flunked Out Of Divinity School

From Ann Althouse, I learned that Al “People Are Killing Gaia!” Gore wrote an Op-ed for the New York Times defending the Global Warming scam.  I won’t link to the Gray Lady, but Althouse has the link.

What caught my attention was the excerpt:

From the standpoint of governance, what is at stake is our ability to use the rule of law as an instrument of human redemption.

Althouse interpreted this to prove that Global Warming was a religious movement (which it is), but missed the fact that Gore doesn’t know his New Testament.  As a Divinity student (before he flunked out and jumped into journalism), Gore should be familiar with Galatians 2:15-16 (NIV)

15“We who are Jews by birth and not ‘Gentile sinners’ 16know that a man is not justified by observing the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by observing the law, because by observing the law no one will be justified.

I never went to Divinity school and haven’t been a regular church-goer in several years, yet I remembered the gist of the above passage.  Less than 5 minutes with Google and I found the above verse.

There is no redemption found in the rule of law – and Gore should know that.
