One of these things is not like the others
Good Morning America (ABC) this morning had a story on the great success of the Obama Administration’s Cash for Clunkers program. From the stories I’ve read on the web, while car sales are up, the Feds haven’t actually paid out any money to the car dealers yet.
What made my jaw drop in amazement at our 21st century mainstream media, however, was their proclamation of how much the program was helping Ford (as if in after-thought, they added that people were still buying Japanese cars too). They proceeded to list the top 4 best-selling “cars” as follows:
1. Toyota Corolla
2. Honda Civic
3. Honda Accord
4. Ford F-series
Uhhhh, one of those isn’t a “car” and doesn’t have very impressive fuel economy. In fact, I believe one of the first acts of the Obama Admin was to revise the CAFE (Corporate Average Fuel Economy) standards for automakers because light trucks like the F-series weren’t held to the same standards as cars like the Corolla, Civic and Accord.
So, what are they teaching in journalism schools these days?
